MTN8 Starting XI: Cape Town City v Polokwane City 17 August 2019

MTN8

Teams: Cape Town City v Polokwane City

Date: 17 August 2019

Venue: Newlands Stadium

Cape Town City begin the defence of their MTN8 at home to Polokwane City at Newlands Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The match will get underway at 15h00.   The Citizens quenched their thirst of silverware after winning the MTN8 title for the first time in the 2018/19 season, beating SuperSport United 4-1 on penalties, following a goalless stalemate in the Final, in Durban.   Benni McCarthy's charges should be the fresher of the two sides, as they have had a whole week to prepare, following their narrow 1-0 victory over newly-promoted side Stellenbosch FC last Saturday in the league's Western-Cape derby.   Meanwhile, Rise and Shine are only entering the tournament for their second time and will be hoping to do better than their debut when they were knocked out by eventual finalists, the Citizens in the quarter-finals in 2017.   Polokwane have continued to make strides in the league this season, as they opened the campaign with two back-to-back victories, before going down 1-0 to Bidvest Wits on Wednesday.
  Here's how they line up:
City: 1. Leeuwenburgh, 20. Morris, 3. Mobara, 15. Cupido, 5. Edmilson, 21. Mokeke, 6. Seedat, 10. David, 38. Kewuti, 30. Martin, 7. Links.   Subs: 16. Stephens, 2. Mkhize, 8. Makola, 9. Erasmus, 11. Ralani, 17. Norodien, 25. Mthembu.   Polokwane: 1. Chigova, 2. Mvelase, 24. Hlongwane, 22. Mbonani, 27. Motloung, 14. Manaka, 16. Mngomezulu, 6. Chauke, 3. Anas, 18. Maluleke, 33. Nku.
Subs: 50. Phali, 28. Nthatheni, 9. Mashumba, 10. Tlolane, 4. Nene, 31. Wagaba, 11. Hlubi.
