Pirates suffered their first defeat of the season after a narrow 1-0 loss against Chippa United, who netted the winner through Abdi Banda in the last four minutes on Sunday.
The Buccaneers will be searching for their second win of the campaign and are placed in eighth spot on the table with four points.
Royal AM will also be looking for a response after their perfect start to the season was halted by a 3-1 thrashing by Stellenbosch on Saturday.
Thwihli Thwahla dropped down to fifth on the log, but they are one of the early pace-setters, sitting just one point behind surprise leaders Richards Bay.
The sides could not be separated last term, after a 1-1 draw in the first round was followed by a 2-2 draw in the reverse.
Royal AM have already beaten one Sowetan side this season after defeating Kaizer Chiefs in their opening game of the campaign.
