Royal AM will be gunning for their first points of the DStv Premiership season when they host Chippa United on Sunday afternoon.
Teams: Royal AM v Chippa United
Date: 12 September 2021
Royal did not have an ideal start to the season after their abrupt acquisition of the status of Bloemfontein Celtic, less than two weeks before the start of the new campaign.
Thwihli Thwahla will be searching for their first points after two successive losses to Swallows and Cape Town City, although it's not all doom and gloom in their losses, as they conceded with virtually the last kick of the game in their 1-0 defeat to the Birds and suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to the Citizens after initially opening the scoring.
In contrast, the new Chilli Boys head coach Gavin Hunt has formulated a solid start for the Gqeberha-based side, as after a 1-0 away win over Sekhukhune United in their opener, Chippa held defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless stalemate in their last match before the international break.
As a result, the Chilli Boys remained unbeaten and they are yet to concede so far and playing away, Royal will need to be at their best in front of goal if they are to break those two Chippa records so far.
