Usuthu played to thier seventh consecutive draw after they came back from two goals down to rescue a point against Chippa United on Tuesday, with a second-half brace by Luvuyo Memela cancelling out Bienvenu Eva Nga's first-hafl double.
However, Benni McCarthy's charges still held on to their eighth spot on the table with 21 points, although they remain in danger of dropping out of the top eight, having played three more matches than Golden Arrows and Cape Town City, who are both just two points behind.
Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, meanwhile, are still in the honeymoon phase under Dan Malesela, as they are yet to lose since he was appointed, in a run of six matches.
Gallants have won four of those matches, although their three-game winning run was halted by Cape Town City, who held them to a goalless stalemate on Tuesday.
Malesela's charges are lying 11th on the log with 18 points, three points behind AmaZulu, who have played two more matches than them.
This is a reverse fixture between the sides, as they played to a goalless draw in the first round clash in Durban, in early November.
