Teams: Maritzburg United v SuperSport United
Date: 27 November 2020
Venue: Harry Gwala Stadium
Middendorp has returned to the Team of Choice for a fourth stint after parting ways with Eric Tinkler this week.
Tinkler lost all five matches so far this season, including the MTN8 quarter-final defeat to Kaizer Chiefs and was relieved of his duties, with the German handed the reigns after resigning at Ethiopian club Saint George SC.
Middendorp finds Maritzburg at the bottom of the log and the only side yet to register any point on the board.
Matsatsantsa, meanwhile, are also struggling for form this season as just after bowing out of the MTN8 in the semi-finals they lost to Orlando Pirates 2-1 last Saturday in the league.
As a result, Kaitano Tembo's charges dropped to eighth on the table with six points from four matches but they could go up to third if they get maximum points this evening.
SuperSport took four points off Maritzburg last season, as they won 2-0 away in the first-round clash while the reverse tie ended 2-2 in Tshwane.
