Chiefs will go into the clash on a high having taken the spoils in the Soweto derby before the international break, beating Orlando Pirates 2-1.
Amakhosi did not have the best of starts to the season before the result against Pirates and it will hopefully kickstart the campaign for Stuart Baxter's men.
They currently sixth in the standings, already a massive points 10 behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns this early in the season.
Maritzburg, meanwhile, are 11th on the table having won three of their ten league matches so far this campaign.
