Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Wydad Casablanca
Date: 01 February 2020
Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca will renew their rivalry as they battle for a top finish in their last CAF Champions League group C encounter on Saturday afternoon.
The match will get underway at 15h00.
The Brazilians remain unbeaten in Group C after Motjeka Madisha netted a stoppage time equaliser to rescue a 2-2 draw at Petro de Luanda last Saturday.
Pitso Mosimane's charges, already through to the quarter-finals, also retained top spot in the section, two points clear of second-placed Wydad.
The last time Masandawana beat the Morrocan giants was in last season's group stages in January 2019, where they recorded a 2-1 win thanks to a brace by Themba Zwane at Lucas Moripe..
However, Wydad followed that up with a reverse 1-0 win in Rabat in the last group match in March and knocked out the Brazilians in the semi-finals with a 2-1 aggregate win in April 2019.
The reverse fixture in the current group phase ended in a goalless draw on 7 December last year in Casablanca.
Sebastien Desabre's troops, meanwhile, are also unbeaten in Group C after thrashing USM Alger 3-1 last Friday to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
Wydad are second with nine points after five matches and need to beat Sundowns to finish as group winners, while the Brazilians only need a draw to end the group on top.
