Teams: SuperSport United v Mamelodi Sundowns
Date: 19 January 2020
Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United renew their Tshwane rivalry on Sunday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with the latter looking boost their title credentials.
The Brazilians will be eager to bounce back in the Absa Premiership after going down 1-0 to Orlando Pirates a few days ago.
Pitso Mosimane's charges can't afford any more slip-ups in the title chase, as they are currently ten points behind table-toppers Kaizer Chiefs, who drew 1-1 with Black Leopards on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Matsatsantsa picked up seven points from their last three matches to give themselves a chance of being in the title race.
SuperSport's last match ended in a 2-0 victory over AmaZulu last Sunday and Sundowns' defeat to Pirates worked in their favour, as United are now just one point behind Masandawana in third place.
While Mosimane will welcome back key midfielder Themba Zwane back from suspension, it will be Tembo's turn to be without influential midfielder in a big game, as Teboho Mokoena will be out due to suspension.
Masandawana won the reverse fixture 2-0 in August 2019 but Matsatsantsa inflicted more pain on Sundowns after securing a 3-1 on aggregate in the MTN8 semi-finals the following month and eventually won the cup in October 2019.
