The Brazilians were humbled 2-0 by SuperSport United in the MTN8 Cup semi-final second-leg on Wednesday and bowed out of the top eight cup with a 3-1 aggregate defeat.

Pitso Mosimane's charges were last in Absa Premiership action at the end of August when they defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 at the end of August and they will be seeking to defend their unbeaten run in the league.

On the other hand, the Team of Choice will be worried about the possibility of a lack of match-sharpness, as they have not played a competitive match in three weeks. Their last outing was a 1-0 defeat to Black Leopards in the Absa Premiership at the end of August, which extended their winless run to four matches.

In their meetings last season in the league, the Brazilians completed a double over Maritzburg after winning 1-0 in the first round clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium before claiming a 2-1 triumph in Pietermaritzburg.
