Teams: Cape Town City v Bidvest Wits
Date: 18 January 2020
Venue: Cape Town Stadium
Bidvest Wits will be looking to keep their title hopes alive when they visit Cape Town City in the Absa Premiership on Saturday evening.
The Clever Boys extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in the league after beating Bloemfontein Celtic 3-2 in a five-goal thriller on Wednesday.
Gavin Hunt's charges can't afford to drop points in their pursuit to catch-up with log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs, as they are currently lying fourth on the table - 11 points behind Amakhosi but having played three games fewer than them.
Wits have confirmed the signing of defender Lorenzo Gordinho from Kaizer Chiefs on a permanent transfer and also announced the capture of young South African winger Kgaogelo Sekgota from Portuguese top flight side Vitoria Setubal.
Meanwhile, the Citizens are flirting with relegation after suffering their third loss in the last five matches after going down 3-0 to Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday.
City were left languishing in 12th place on the table with 17 points from 18 matches, just one point above the relegation zone.
The Clever Boys won the corresponding fixture 2-0 in December last year at Dobsonville Stadium thanks to goals from Terrence Dzvukamanja and Thulani Hlatshwayo.
