Teams: Baroka v Maritzburg United
Date: 26 January 2020
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Baroka FC will be desperate to get away from the drop zone when they host Maritzburg United in the only Absa Premiership match on Sunday afternoon at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The Team of Choice extended their unbeaten run to seven matches after edging AmaZulu 1-0 last Friday thanks to a first-half goal by Thabiso Kutumela.
Eric Tinkler's charges are sitting comfortably in sixth place with 26 points from 18 matches but their top eight spot is far from being secured, as they are only two points clear of ninth placed Golden Arrows.
Meanwhile, New Bakgaga Dylan Kerr has been in the dugout for past three weeks as he continues to wait for a work permit and their struggles have not gotten any better since they parted ways with former coach Wedson Nyirenda.
The Limpopo side lost their tenth match of the campaign after going down 1-0 to Stellenbosch FC last week, which has left the side in 13th spot on the log.
Baroka are level on points with the bottom three sides, Black Leopards, Polokwane City and AmaZulu but are slightly elevated on the table due to a better goal difference.
Maritzburg won the reverse fixture earlier this season courtesy of a solitary goal by Mxolisi Kunene back at Harry Gwala Stadium.
