2018 World Cup Qualifiers

Teams: South Africa v Senegal

Date: 10 November 2017

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Bafana Bafana will lock horns with Senegal in a crucial 2018 World Cup Qualifier at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on this evening.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h00.

The rivalry between Bafana and the Lions of Teranga continues after the South Africans won the contested World Cup Qualifier match 2-1 exactly a year ago.

However, FIFA ordered a replay of the fixture after it emerged that the referee who was in charge of that game Joseph Lamptey was implicated for match manipulation.

Stuart Baxter's troops were then docked three points and now have to win back-to-back matches against Aliou Cissé's charges to qualify for the showpiece in Russia.

Bafana impressively dispatched Burkina Faso 3-1 last month and need six points to qualify despite sitting bottom of the Group with four points.

In contrast, Senegal need three points from their last two games to guarantee World Cup participation.

Cissè's charges are top of the Group with eight points. They will come to Polokwane on a high after beating Cape Verde 2-0 away from home last month.

Itumeleng Khune has been handed a start and will waer a mask after sustaining an injury against Chippa United last weekend, while Dean Furman has been given the nod in midfield.

Here's how they line up:

Bafana: Khune, Daniels, Gould, Mkhize, Hlanti, Furman, Mokotjo, Manyama, Zwane, Vilakazi, Tau.

Senegal: Ndiaye, Sane, Koulibaly, Sakho, Kouyate, Niang, Mane, Gueye, Ndoye, Sabaly, Gassama.
