Uruguayan club Montevideo City Torque has confirmed the transfer of Marcelo Allende to DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Chilean attacker was with Montevideo for three seasons and, according to the club, has is the top assister in the history of the club. They wished him the best as he is going to start a new chapter in his life with Sundowns, who have gone into the South American market to find talent.
Allende is highly rated and, according to what the Siya crew has been told, is seen as a player who can cause a lot of problems for PSL defenders with his pace and skill. At age 23, Allende has a lot of years ahead of him in the game
Sundowns are determined to win the CAF Champions League and their signings are an indication of this. They've already confirmed the signings of Ronwen Williams and Sipho Mbule, and are expected to confirm the arrivals of Allende, Ethiopian international Abubeker Nassir and Moroccan defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil.
The club is hoping that they can finally get their hands on a second Champions League, having failed to go all the way since clinching it in 2016.
Sundowns have been in the North West and KZN for pre-season, preparing for what promises to be another long campaign.
