Former Orlando Pirates winger Daine Klate held the record for after scoring for Bidvest Wits against the Brazilians in the 2015/2016 final.

Shalulile has now revealed that goal came about as Mokwena did not want the Soweto giants to play long balls.

"It started at training, we make sure that the keeper should not play long, press the keeper and that's what happened and that's why I scored the first goal and even the second goal I was going to head behind the second-back and that's what I did," he said.

"Coach Rulani, credit must go to him, the guy doesn't sleep and he wants the best from us and like I say, if the coach wants the best from you, you always try to deliver, that's what we're always taught by the coach."

The Namibian striker added that the Brazilians are looking to challenge on all fronts this campaign.

"You can see it was a tough game but if you stay positive during the hard times these are the outcomes of everything. It means a lot, we want to make a statement that it's possible for a team to win four, five trophies like this," he said.

"But for Sundowns and my teammates, we just wanna win trophies. It doesn't mean if you don't play good football you cannot win trophies but this is what we're trying to do, win trophies."
