Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has given reasons why Thapelo Maseko will still be a player of the club beyond the close of the transfer window.
Maseko has struggled for game time at Sundowns and his agent, Glyb Binkin, recently told Soccer Laduma that there are some options they presented to Sundowns in terms of the player's exit.

“Unfortunately, there are no updates. I am waiting for Sundowns to get back to me regarding some options that we put to them,” Binkin said when contacted by this publication.
It appears Sundowns will be holding on to Maseko, if what Cardoso said after the club's MTN8 exit is anything to go by.
"Of course he will be here after the window closes. Why he should not be here? He is a Mamelodi Sundowns player, he is part of the squad and as I see in the club, I don't see any intentions from no one to let him go. He is working good," Cardoso told media at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday evening.
"Of course, when you don't have Lucas Ribeiro playing on the right, where he can play, it gives more chances to players who can play in those positions. It's obvious he is trying to fight for his place. Obviously, I want my players motivated and if I give them chances, it's also to keep them motivated and to understand that they are part of the core of the team. There is no one in the group that we do not count. Everything that happens inside the club, we will always have to deal with the the interest of the player, but interest of the club (as well). I think it's clear on the statement that the club did with regards to players going out and coming in. It's a moment for stablity, not instability. Because we are building."

It's been a tough period for Maseko, who looked a little rusty when he came on against the Buccaneers. With more game time, however, the left-footed attacker can get back to his best form.
