Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be discussing the future of left back Sifiso Ngobeni, with a loan move on the cards for the former Bloemfontein Celtic player.
Ngobeni joined Sundowns before the start of the 2021/22 season, and was loaned out to Tshwane rivals SuperSport United during the January transfer window. While he was on loan to Matsatsantsa, Ngobeni got valuable game-time, playing nine times after he had only featured twice for Sundowns in the first half of the season.
The left back position has quite a few players fighting for it at Chloorkop, with the likes of Lyle Lakay, Aubrey Modiba and Divine Lunga working tirelessly week in and out to convince the technical team to select them.
Ngobeni, as the Siya crew understands, cannot be guaranteed regular game-time in the coming season and there is a possibility that he will be sent out on loan, with SuperSport interested in having him for longer than the five months he was with them in the second half of last season.
Ngobeni is expected to report for pre-season camp with Sundowns on Thursday and then a final decision on where he will play his football will be made.
Sundowns and SuperSport are believed to be already involved in a deal to swap goalkeepers Ricardo Goss and Ronwen Williams, as reported by the Siya crew. It appears that there will be more deals involving the clubs, with the Sipho Mbule agreement already over the line.
