Teams in the Premier Soccer League are doing their best to improvise through the challenges of lockdown. Mamelodi Sundowns have since revealed how they look to maintain the 'dressing room spirit' while at home.
South Africa will move in to level four of the nationwide lockdown on Friday, however, it is still uncertain as to when teams will be able to resume club training.
In the past five weeks, teams in the top flight have been using the Zoom conference tool to maintain communication throughout this period and while some teams train online together daily, other teams use it as a weekly catch up session.
Sundowns revealed that this week, the team held a video meeting to 'maintain dressing room spirit'.
"The Brazilians first team held a video meeting to maintain dressing room spirit last week with the players and the coaching staff calling in from their respective houses. Following the informal meeting of some 20 minutes in which they were able to catch up the team proceeded to their daily fitness session," the club said on the official website.
On communication with the injured squad players, Sundowns stated, "Furthermore, Doctors Carl and Paul continue to carry out individual meeting with each of the injured players in the squad who at the same time are in permanent contact with the team's fitness coaches.
"Training at home can be tricky but we are doing our best to keep the boys sharp and focused, when the league resumes we will be as ready as we can be" Peter Ndlovu, Sundowns' team manager added.
