Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of a new defender, bolstering their squad ahead of what's going to be a busy second half of the season.
The Tshwane giants have secured the services of defender Zuko Mdunyelwa from Chippa United on a long term deal, confirming the signing just a few days before the opening of the January transfer window.

Mdunyelwa has been a key player for Chippa this season, making 14 appearances in all competitions for the club. He started all the matches he played in and was taken off just once.
Playing as a right back, Mdunyelwa will have tough competition of breaking into the team, with Khuliso Mudau and Thapelo Morena as options for head coach Rulani Mokwena.
Sundowns are understood to have been tracking the player and the technical team believe he is someone who can fit into the system.

This may not be the only signing Sundowns confirm. As recently reported by the Siya crew, Sundowns are set to announce the signing of another South American attacker. Sundowns are believed to have secured the signing of Argentine midfielder Matias Esquivel, with a fee of over R40 said to have been agreed.
