Retired footballer Lerato Chabangu discusses how he has fallen on hard times after a successful playing career that saw him feature for some of South Africa's top clubs and the national team.
Chabangu was on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns, where he enjoyed two spells. He had also played for SuperSport United, Moroka Swallows and Chippa United.

He never officially announced his retirement from the game but fell out of the limelight following turning out for his last top flight club, Chippa back in 2016.
In an interview with Prime Sports with Mahlatse, Chabangu conceded that he is currently going through a lot personally.
"It's difficult, we're all going through a lot. You know, when you used to get income and now you've got no income it's difficult," Chabangu said in the recent podcast.
"The family were looking that you would give something back home, but now they see there is no income - they are disappointed. The name Chabangu was high, now I'm the laughing stock," he added.
The former Brazilian visited ex-Kaizer Chiefs footballer Junior Khanye recently, which went viral on the social media, and then Soccer Laduma spoke to Khanye about the meeting.
"It was a genuine visit and I just decided to visit Lerato as a friend of mine and there wasn't more to it. Lerato is a former teammate of mine from the U20 and U23 national teams and that's one of the reasons I decided to visit him just to catch up.
"I see that the pictures we took has been trending and that wasn't the aim to be honest, but it was just a visit to a friend like I say. Ever since, I have been getting enquiries from people who would like to lay a helping hand to the brother and to me that's good to see," Khanye told the Siya crew.
Chabangu, who is now 38-years-old, scored over two dozen goals in the elite league from 2005 to 2016 and won two league titles, the Nedbank Cup and two MTN8 crowns during his tenure in the big time.
He also played for Bafana Bafana where he participated in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana and then the 2013 edition on home soil.
