Secret Agent Critical Of Chiefs In Blom Saga

Secret Agent Critical Of Chiefs In Blom Saga

The contract saga involving Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom could be nearing the end, Soccer Laduma understands.

Blom's contract impasse with Chiefs could be resolved in the near future after Chiefs presented his camp with an improved offer.

As reported in edition 1302 of the publication, available at your nearest outlet, Amakhosi have returned to the negotiations table with an improved proposal and the two parties have agreed in principle to sign a new deal.

The 22-year old's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and he is therefore eligible to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice in January.

Despite the two parties agreeing to a contract extension in principle, according to Siya sources, believed to be a multi-million rand deal, nothing has been made official.

Until Blom officially puts pen to paper on a contract extension and the club announces the agreement, his future will remain under speculation, with interested suitors waiting in the wings.

A secret agent has weighed in on the matter and believes the Glamour Boys should do whatever it takes to tie down Blom to a new contract.

"I cannot obviously dictate to them how to run their affairs, but my view is that all over the world, clubs identify players that are vital to their missions and ambitions," the agent, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Siya crew.

"And do everything in their power to satisfy their needs and tie them down to the club. It may well be that they have groomed and developed the players and maybe feel that as their product,

"He doesn't deserve to earn in a certain bracket. But the truth is that Blom is currently their most outstanding player and they should do everything possible to tie him down than lose him on a free!" the intermediary added.

One of the reasons why Chiefs are working around the clock to retain the services of Blom is that he is a major asset to the club beyond just on the pitch.

At 22, the academy graduate has a lot of room for growth and improvement and could still be potentially sold to an overseas team at a huge price.

So losing Blom, whose performancs are on the rise in defensive midfield under head coach Arthur Zwane, to local rivals would also knock Amakhosi from a business perspective, especially considering that 'Stoppa' harnessed his talents at their development ranks from his childhood.
