Sekhukhune United head coach Kaitano Tembo has singled out a former Kaizer Chiefs defender as a standout performer in the early stages of the DStv Premiership, describing the player as "intelligent".
Babina Noko have conceded three goals in four league matches and are 10th on the log standings with one win, two draws, and a defeat in their opening four games.
In their recent league outing, Sekhukhune held defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 draw, and Tembo was full of praise for defender Daniel Cardoso.
Cardoso joined Sekhukhune ahead of the new season after parting ways with Chiefs, and the veteran has been brilliant for Babina Noko, according to Tembo.
"Look, Daniel has been brilliant since day one; he has been tops. Good football intelligence as well as good defending," Tembo told the media in Polokwane.
"He communicates very well with the rest of the guys, and he has shown some leadership qualities, and he has been playing very well since we started."
The 33-year-old has started in all Sekhukhune's four league matches this season, playing every minute in the heart of the defence.
Babina Noko will take on Swallows in their next league game on Tuesday evening at 19:30 at the Dobsonville Stadium.
