Reports suggest that if Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi is appointed by Kaizer Chiefs, then he plans to bring in his own technical team, including two assistant coaches, a goalkeeper coach, a fitness trainer, and a video analyst.
This move could significantly impact the dynamics within the team, offering both opportunities and challenges for the players. In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, former Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabang Rooi discussed the implications of such a change.

Rooi, who is now the head coach at Vaal University of Technology (VUT), highlighted the dual nature of this potential overhaul.
"It works both ways. As a player who was not playing under the previous coach it becomes a motivation because you believe that the new coach will give you a second chance. But the other side of the coin is that those players who were playing under the previous coach feel like things will change for the worse for them. So, if a coach changes the whole technical team and brings his own assistant coaches and other members it works both ways," Rooi told Soccer Laduma.
The introduction of a new technical team can reset the playing field, providing a clean slate for all team members but also introducing uncertainty and the need for players to adapt to new methodologies and expectations.
Rooi also emphasized the importance of maintaining local influence within the coaching staff, especially for a club with the stature and cultural significance of Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.
"I understand the coach who is supposed to come in has studied African football and he knows how to handle players even if he comes with his own technical team but I think at a team like Chiefs or Pirates you need someone who has been there. Someone who knows the local game to work with a foreign coach. Maybe management has spoken to the coach and they believe in what he is bringing in but I seriously would consider at least one local coach in the technical team to keep things local and understand the game and the players much better," the Sharpville born defender concluded.
The integration of local coaching expertise with foreign tactical perspectives could create a balanced approach, potentially enhancing the team's performance both domestically and in continental competitions.
The potential appointment of Nabi at Chiefs and his accompanying technical team represents a pivotal moment for the club. It promises renewal and fresh tactical insights but also poses challenges in terms of team cohesion and player adaptation.
