Nabi 'To Leave' Moroccan Side, Chiefs Up Next?

Nasreddine Nabi will reportedly leave AS FAR at the end of the season.

Kaizer Chiefs could finally be getting their main as Moroccan media are reporting that Nasreddine Nabi will leave AS FAR at the end of the season.

The Siya crew had previously reported that Chiefs and Nabi were in advance talks over the vacant head coach role.

However, the Moroccan media are now reporting that the 58-year-old will leave AS FAR when the campaign concludes to take up the role at Naturena.

Nabi suffered heartbreak on Friday evening after his side lost the Botola Pro 1 to Josef Zinnbauer's Raja Casablanca on the final day of the season.

There is still matter of the Moroccan Throne Cup semi-final against MAS Fes on 23 June, as AS FAR look to end the campaign with some silverware after missing out on the league title.

Nabi was on the Chiefs reported radar before the start of the 2023/2024 campaign, but the deal reportedly fell through as the coach wanted to bring his own backroom staff.

Chiefs ended up appointing Molefi Ntseki in the head coach role although he only lasted a few months before he was replaced by Cavin Johnson in October on an interim basis.

The Soweto giants finished outside the top eight in the DStv Premiership for first time since the 2018/19 campaign.
