The 36-year-old, who is Chiefs' longest serving member of the current squad, last week caused a stir when he revealed that he has plans to continue playing, despite an announcement by the club that the 2023/24 season would be his last as a player.
Khune has made no secret of his desire to follow in the footsteps of Gianluigi Buffon and Hossam Al Hadary, both of whom have played well into their forties before hanging up their gloves.
When asked whether leaving Chiefs would be an option in order to continue playing, Khune revealed that he would much rather retire than to turn out for another club in the Premiership.
"To be quite honest, I cannot invest my time and my energy for the past 25 years with one club, which is Kaizer Chiefs and then in my 26th year, I start entertaining ideas of any other club.
"I think I told myself that I wanna play here until I hang my gloves. I've done tremendously well when it comes to that part. If I'm forced to retire at the end of the season, I will retire peacefully and I can start focusing on other things," he told journalists.
"I don't see, and I've never seen myself representing any other brand except Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana," he concluded.
