Nabi: Why I Am Joining Chiefs, When Coach Will Be Announced

Nasreddine Nabi

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has reportedly opened up on his impending move to take the helm at Kaizer Chiefs, when speaking to Al Sabah News, a publication in his home country, Tunisia.

Revealing the discussions to one of South Africa's most popular clubs for the first time, Nabi shared his enthusiasm, vision and his reason for joining Chiefs from Moroccan club AS FAR Rabat.

Published in the Arabic language, Nabi expressed a profound sense of responsibility and honour in leading such a prestigious club.

"Indeed, I am close to signing with Kaizer Chiefs for a project to gradually restore the club among the top teams, especially since it is one of the oldest clubs in South Africa," Nabi was reported to have said by Al Sabah News, when translated into English.

Nabi's decision to move from North Africa and join Chiefs is not just about taking on a new coaching role and technical challenge; it's also about embracing a cultural shift and bringing in his extensive experience to rejuvenate a club that has struggled to maintain its former glory.

"I chose the offer from Kaizer Chiefs because it is an honour for me to oversee a team of Kaizer Chiefs' value and at the same time for me as a Tunisian and Arab to be entrusted with this responsibility. This opportunity also allows me to experience a different culture, both football-wise and socially, which is always a gain I aspire to," said Nabi.

Nabi has not been officially named as Chiefs' new coach yet, but Siya sources have revealed that Amakhosi look set to announce the Tunisian in the coming days, with indications that news on player incomings are also imminent.

Siya sources have added that Chiefs will be travelling from Thursday, 4 July, on their pre-season European tour to Turkey.

His expected tenure at Amakhosi is filled with anticipation and promise. With his insight and proven track record around Africa, including title successes in Tanzania with Young Africans, Nabi is poised to lead Chiefs to start winning things again.

As the club and its fans look forward to a revitalized squad under Nabi's leadership, the football community will be keenly watching the unfolding of this new era at one of Africa's most iconic clubs.
