Kaizer Chiefs have struggled since the start of the season but they have the second round of the campaign to turn things around completely, after already showing signs of improvement under interim coach Cavin Johnson.
One of their targets should be to fight for a CAF Champions League spot, and their former striker, Katlego 'Killer' Mphela tells Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview that although they have a good squad, Amakhosi need transfers to achieve that goal.

Mphela wants the team to receive a boost in three departments just in time for when PSL action returns in February after the Africa Cup of Nations break.
"The second round of the season is always the toughest. Every team fights for something. Others are fighting to avoid relegation, others to be in the top eight while others fight for places to play in Africa," Mphela told the Siya crew.
"Yes, I agree that Chiefs have a good squad but they need to beef up with a few signings. They need a striker who can score goals consistently game in and game out. Even if it's not every game but at least constantly. Again, they need a top creative midfielder who can help that striker score those goals by creating chances.
"But above all, a strong and aggressive central defender. You can see that at the moment goals are not really coming from the strikers. They are coming from different areas on the field. If you look at the past when Chiefs used to win trophies it was the strikers who were scoring most of the goals and they were top scorers and top strikers.
"They need one like that at the moment. They have good defenders but they need one strong and aggressive one then they can fight for things in the second round both in the league and the Nedbank Cup," Mphela observed.
The former Bafana Bafana striker added that the team should also stick with Johnson at least until the end of the season.
"Coach Johnson has been doing well since he took over and the results started showing. They have to at least he patient with him and if they want to give him a chance they can wait until the end of the season and access his progress.
"They should not disturb the process right now. Personally I think he has started understanding the players and the players are also understanding him which will help the team in the second round. So they should not disturb that at the moment," Mphela told Soccer Laduma.
