Maritzburg United are open to having one of Kaizer Chiefs' strikers on board, but the decision rests on whether Amakhosi are willing to let the player go.
Keletso Sifama spent the second half of last season on loan to Maritzburg United and has since returned to Naturena ahead of the new season. Sifama was given his Amakhosi first team debut by Ernst Middendorp at Chiefs during the 2019/2020 season.
When Middendorp joined Maritzburg during the course of last season, Sifama was brought in on a short-term loan deal.
The Team of Choice has confirmed that they would like to have the player back in the coming season, but that does not depend on them.
"He's back at Chiefs now. At this stage, we have to wait for Chiefs to give guidance on whether he is going out or whatever the case may be. We would like to have him back, but that's not dependent on us. It's dependent on Chiefs," Maritzburg's football and operations manager Quintin Jetto told the Siya crew.
The 18-year-old Sifama made five appearances for Maritzburg last season, all of them as a substitute. Sifama is highly rated by Middendorp and there could a chance of more game-time in KZN than at Naturena.
