Mashego: Give Eymael A Chance At Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with a number of head coaches for next season, and former PSL striker Katlego 'Mahoota' Mashego believes Luc Eymael would be the right man for the job.

The Belgian mentor was recently discussing how he believes he could transform Chiefs, but also revealed how the club may not consider his services, even though he had claimed Amakhosi did speak to his agent

"I don't know if he is offering himself to Kaizer Chiefs and Chiefs are not interested probably because of other things, but I would give him a chance," Mashego told Sports Night Amplified with Andile.

After earning Free State Stars their first trophy in 24 years, the Nedbank Cup in 2018, Mashego believes that Eymael managing a club like Chiefs with more resources will make the Belgian even more successful.

"I think he is a good coach and maybe if he goes to a bigger team with more resources and all that than Free State Stars, he might do well. I just don't know how he offered himself to Kaizer Chiefs and what was the conversation there.

"But I think now Chiefs need to try anything, they need to try all the coaches," Mashego continued.

Soccer Laduma revealed Chiefs' shortlist of coaches, with their preferred local options, the top European candidate and their favoured foreign coach from South America. Eymael is not believed to be one of Chiefs' options on their shortlist.

A busy week lies ahead for the Glamour Boys in the Premiership where they host Golden Arrows on Tuesday before taking on rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby on Saturday.
