A potential tug of war is on the cards after Kaizer Chiefs could not complete the signing of one of their targets in the previous transfer window.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Chiefs were interested in signing Golden Arrows forward Pule Mmodi in the off-season as one of the new players in their rebuilding phase.
However, Amakhosi were unable to agree terms with Arrows over the transfer of Mmodi.

The latest information gathered by the Siya crew, as per edition 1294 of Soccer Laduma currently on sale, is that Chiefs are no longer the only side showing strong interest in the Bafana Bafana star.
Soccer Laduma has been led to believe that AmaZulu have entered the race to sign Mmodi and actually came close to landing the speedy attacker on transfer deadline day.
According to sources close to the dealings, Usuthu made an enquiry into the possibility of signing the 29-year old just before the registration period slammed shut on 22 September, but Arrows were unwilling to do a last-minute deal, as they would not have sufficient time to find his replacement.
After a shaky start to the season, Mmodi has been instrumental in Abafana Bes'thende turnaround, as he has emerged as their top goalscorer with four goals.
However, the Siya crew has been led to believe that Arrows have resigned themselves to losing Mmodi in the January transfer window, given that they could lose him for free when his contract expires at the end of the season.
As reported by the Siya crew, Chiefs remain keen on signing Mmodi and could be seen as favourites, given that the player himself has been vocal about his desire to join the Soweto giants, as confirmed also by co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi in his interview with Soccer Laduma in issue 1294 currently on sale.
However, the presence of AmaZulu in the race could make Chiefs supporters uneasy, especially after the KwaZulu-Natal side beat Amakhosi to the signatures of both Ethan Brooks and Zambian midfielder Rally Bwalya in the previous transfer window.
The Soweto giants could be under more pressure to make a statement signing in the January transfer window after bitter rivals Orlando Pirates hogged the headlines with the transfer deadline day signings of Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Kermit Erasmus.
Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has also revealed recently that they need a winger in their side, who can take the pressure off Kgaogelo Sekgota and make them equally dangerous on the right side of attack.
However, the Siya crew has been informed that AmaZulu are also equally keen on Mmodi and are ready to pull out all the stops for his signature.
