Kaizer Chiefs Reach Agreement To Sign Yusuf Maart

The contract details of Kaizer Chiefs' latest signing have been revealed as the Bafana Bafana international is expected to report at Naturena when the team returns for pre-season.

Having already confirmed adding Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez from Stellenbosch FC to Arthur Zwane's squad for the new season, Chiefs is expected to unveil Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart in the coming weeks after reaching an agreement with Sekhukhune United for his services.

As reported by the Siya crew, an offer for the 26-year-old was initially accepted at Babina Noko last month, though the proposed move went on to hit a snag.

In edition 1276 of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew reported that Sekhukhune wanted to cash in on their prized asset and backtracked from the initial agreement after re-visiting the R3 million Amakhosi offer for the Orlando Pirates development product.

However, a deal has now been agreed to in principle after the parties sat down again to dot the i's and cross the t's, with the player set to pack his bags to join his new teammates at the Soweto giants later this month.

"Yusuf Maart has signed with the club (Chiefs). It's a done deal after Chiefs management were able to convince Sekhukhune for the player's services," a source close to the Chiefs camp confirmed.

"It's something that the two clubs first agreed on in May already but there were some issues that needed to be ironed out before the deal could be concluded. Now that the player is back from the national team and with the clubs having concluded with the issues that were outstanding, the deal has been signed and sealed. It's a three-year deal with an option to extend for two years," concluded the source.

Siyethemba Sithebe is another new signing for Amakhosi, while Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Dillon Solomons are expected to join from Swallows FC. The likes of Golden Arrows' Pule Mmodi and Given Msimango from TS Galaxy are of the players linked with the Soweto giants.
