Kaizer Chiefs' contract negotiations with midfielder Njabulo Blom was multilayered and one of the club's subplots included head coach Arthur Zwane.

As reported in edition 1302 of Soccer Laduma, the tension between Blom's camp and Amakhosi over a potential contract renewal has calmed down.
The Siya crew exclusively revealed in the special report that following the deadlock between the two parties, the Glamour Boys ultimately returned to the negotiating table with an improved offer.
The sticking point between the 22-year old's representative Rob Moore and the Amakhosi management was around the utility player's value and salary package, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
According to Siya sources close to the two camps, Chiefs have valued Blom at R11 million in their latest offer, with a salary package that is well over one million rand per annum on a three-year contract, with an option to renew, presented.
Soccer Laduma has been reliable informed that the two parties have agreed, in principle, to sign a new contract extension, although nothing has been made official.
During the impasse and given the possibility of losing Blom, the Soweto giants approached his parents to persuade him in the protracted contract talks but they were not successful.
As stated in the Siya special section, Chiefs had resigned themselves to losing Blom but made a U-turn in the negotiations and came back with an improved offer.
Another ally for the Soweto giants in the negotiations was Zwane, who has groomed Blom from the development ranks as a young boy.
"I'm not overly worried, obviously we want to see him (Blom) on the field of play. He's got such incredible qualities," Zwane told the media.
"We have known Blom since he was 14 years old when he came to Kaizer Chiefs and I'm sure the matter will be resolved," he added.
Blom was conspicuous by his absence in the Carling Black Label Cup after he was ruled out due to illness but was available for Bafana Bafana, in camp a couple of days later, something that raised speculation over his future at the Naturena-based side.
However, Zwane has confirmed that 'Stoppa' is back at training with the rest of the squad after they returned from their World Cup break.
"Njabulo and Kgaogelo (Sekgota) came back (from the national team) with the rest of the team. They look sharp and will continue their preparations with the squad for the next encounter," Zwane told the club's official website.

"We are also happy Blom has recovered after missing the Carling Black Label Cup match," he added.
