The Glamour Boys snapped up Madagascan international, Andriamirado 'Dax' Andrianarimanana, in 2018, but despite him being cleared by FIFA to play for the club, his former employers, Fosa Juniors, fought the issue saying that he had a professional contract with them - something that the player has denied.
It was reported over the week that Chiefs were likely to appeal the sentence given the evidence that they originally submitted to FIFA regarding the midfielder's contractual situation prior to moving to Naturena, and that has now been confirmed from the club this week.
Chiefs announced that they will appeal the sentence set down by football's world governing body, saying in a statement, "The Club and the player have received a correspondence from FIFA Disciplinary Committee concerning the Malagasy player Adriamirado Aro Hasina Andrianarimanana.
"Kaizer Chiefs will lodge an appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in accordance to article 58 par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes."
Chiefs claim that the player never had a professional contract with Fosa before moving to Chiefs, and even brought in a signature expert who concluded that the signature on his previous contract was forged.
