Last season, Kaizer Chiefs faced significant challenges, culminating in a 10th place finish in the league. This outcome followed the early-season dismissal of coach Molefi Ntseki, replaced by interim coach Cavin Johnson. In a bid to restore the club's prestigious status, Chiefs have appointed Nasreddine Nabi, bringing in his own technical team to spearhead the revival.
Jessica Motaung, Chiefs' Sponsorship Marketing Manager, emphasized the importance of patience with the new coaching setup during the launch of the Toyota Cup.

"Oh yeah we have to be patient. One thing that we learnt from last season is that we should not make decisions in a hurry. If we haven't learnt to be patient then we have to have a meeting soon and look into that. So, yes, with the new coach we will give him time to look at the players and let him work with them and implement what he sees will work for the team," Motaung told the media.
Motaung also highlighted the importance of community and supporter patience as the club navigates this transitional period.
"We ask everyone involved with the team from management to the players and the supporters to be patient as we embark on a new journey of rebuilding the brand," Motaung said.
Addressing concerns about the predominantly foreign technical team, Motaung reassured that this would not dilute the club's identity.

"The coach comes with the technical backroom staff of which, yes, it's for the first time at Kaizer Chiefs but remember they will be working with everyone at the club from the junior teams until the senior team. They will be working hand in hand and impacting the knowledge to each other and that way still continuing the culture - the Chiefs way. The identity won't be lost at all. The team will still have the Chiefs DNA," Motaung observed.
