Chiefs Leadership Sets Sights On Multiple Challenges Ahead!

Kaizer Chiefs’ Commercial and Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung, has underlined the club’s ambition to compete for honours on all fronts this season, with a focus on defending the Nedbank Cup, maintaining their strong start in the Betway Premiership, and making an impact in continental football.

Chiefs, who lifted the Nedbank Cup last season, are eager to retain the trophy, while also chasing success in the league and the CAF Confederation Cup.

With the Glamour Boys currently second on the Premiership log on 13 points from their first five matches – four wins and a draw – Motaung insists the team’s objectives remain clear.

“Defending this is definitely on our cards and making sure that we play for every trophy on the table,” she said. “Also, very important for us is playing in CAF, and we are excited to be back in the Confed Cup. We look forward to our game in Angola and we’re asking our supporters both here in South Africa and on the continent to support the team to succeed locally and internationally.”

Motaung was speaking at Phulong Secondary School in Kwa-Thema, Springs, during the handover of a state-of-the-art multipurpose sports court – a project made possible through Nedbank, The Sports Trust, the Premier Soccer League and Kaizer Chiefs.

The facility, which will serve more than 1500 learners and surrounding schools, was donated as part of the Nedbank Cup champions’ community upliftment programme.

The new court, designed for soccer, netball, basketball, volleyball and tennis, is the 10th of its kind built through the programme and carries a 20-year lifespan. For Motaung, the facility symbolises Chiefs’ broader role in empowering communities while competing for silverware on the field.

“A facility of this magnitude, with a 20-year lifespan and eco-friendly design, will unlock the potential of young people by providing a safe, inclusive space for growth,” she added.

“As Nedbank Cup champions, we are proud to stand alongside our partners to hand over a court that will create a lasting impact for the entire community.”
