Kaizer Chiefs announced on Tuesday that they had a special treat ahead of the Amakhosi faithful in the new year, and Jessica Motaung has explained the reasons behind it…
The Glamour Boys' first game of 2020 – against Highlands Park – will take place a day after they celebrate their 50th birthday, and their start to the 2019/20 campaign means that they will do so while sitting pretty on top of the Absa Premiership log.
Chiefs revealed this week that they would be giving away two free tickets to any fan wishing to attend the first game after their 50th anniversary on January 7, and Motaung says that it's 'important that no one is left out'.
Jessica Motaung, the club's Marketing Director, told their official website, "The fixture against Highlands Park is a historical and significant match and our plan for the club's 50th-anniversary celebration is to reminisce with our older fans and educate our younger fans about the history of this institution; how we came to be where we are today. We encourage them to take advantage of the Christmas gift the club is offering and get their tickets.
"It is important that no one is left out in our celebrations in our 50th year and we urge supporters to get to Computicket as early as possible to avoid disappointments… We will roll out our more mind-blowing plans as we progress."
Chiefs finish the year with a game against Maritzburg United this weekend and can extend their lead even further as they go into their final match before they celebrate their half century.
