Kaizer Chiefs have received major criticism for going nine years without lifting a trophy, and in recent times many of their former players have weighed in, providing reasons for the drought.
Jan "Malombo" Lechaba, who had famously donned the number 15 jersey at the club, has expressed his emotions regarding Chiefs' inability to recapture their glory days.
"Sometimes, I feel like crying because when you see these players nowadays. They don't respect the brand, when you play for that team it's a big brand whether you like it or not," Lechaba told Marawa Sports Worldwide.
"I was so fortunate to play for that team and was so fortunate to be surrounded by the best players in South Africa if not the world. I'm talking about the Ace Ntsoelengoes, Computer Lamola, Bra K (Dr Kaizer Motaung).
"And when you play for that team, you must know it has followers and what you must do is to respect those followers because you are what you are because of them," he added.
Reports of ill-discipline among some of Amakhosi's players also disappointed Lechaba so he then started to question the attitude of those stars.
"These players now, it's all about themselves not about the supporters. In our time, there was this gentleman by the name of China Ngema – one of the founders and even Bra K himself when you don't play well in the first half, they will come to you and ask you, 'do you know how many people are outside here to come and watch you?'
"Then, it made you realise. The biggest problem is if players can respect supporters, it will be a different game. To hear someone coming to training being drunk, no, no it's not something that is good. That's lack of respect," Lechaba added.
With the PSL on a break because of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Amakhosi will only resume action on February 13 and will do so against TS Galaxy.
