The Nedbank Cup provides Chiefs with what could be their final shot at silverware this season, with the league out of distance for the Glamour Boys.
First, they have to get over a hurdle in the form of Milford FC, a side from KwaZulu-Natal who are battling in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Chiefs hold the prestige of having won this competition 13 times in its various guises – but they also boast an unwanted record of having slipped up against minnows, think Baroka FC, University of Pretoria and TS Galaxy amongst others.
The clash takes place at FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon and Chiefs interim head coach Cavin Johnson will be without four of his players for the clash.
The likes of George Matlou, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, and Edmilson Dove are all nursing injuries, while Sifiso Hlanti has been suspended for the match, having accumulated four yellow cards.
Vice-captain Keagan Dolly and striker Ashley Du Preez returned to the Chiefs matchday squad, while all eyes will be peeled on teenage sensation Mfundo Vilakazi who is in line to make his Amakhosi debut.
