Ex-Chiefs Striker Gives Amakhosi Advice On Who To Keep and Let Go Of

Ex-Chiefs Striker Gives Amakhosi Advice On Who To Keep and Let Go Of

Maselesele says Chiefs do not need to keep defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

A former Kaizer Chiefs striker has given his list of which players should leave Amakhosi, surprisingly including Khama Billiat.

Amakhosi have 10 players who have contracts coming to an end in June. These players are: Lebogang Manyama, Khama Billiat, Willard Katsande, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Siphelele Ntshangase, Philani Zulu, Bernard Parker, Bruce Bvuma, Kgotso Moleko and Brylon Petersen.

It is understood that Billiat has an option in his contract and, should Chiefs exercise it, former Amakhosi striker Lucky Maselesele feels they should cash in and sell the player to Al Ahly or Zamalek, two Egyptian giants said to be interested in the Zimbabwean international.

Another player who has an option in his contract is Mphahlele.

"Looking at the list of players (who have their contracts expiring in June), there are players I believe they don't deserve to stay there anymore. They should move. Not that they are bad players, but for other reasons I feel that they need to move on. Number one, Khama Billiat should leave. Chiefs should be smart and let him go to Egypt and cash in. They can buy a lot of players with the money they sell him for," Maselesele tells the Siya crew.

"Siphelele Ntshangase never fitted in at Chiefs, since he got there. He is a quality player, but there's a lack of confidence. He doubts his talent. He is at a big club where everybody wants to be, but he does not shine. So, there's a problem there.

"Ramahlwe Mphahlele is injury prone. Maybe the age is catching up. I believe there are players who can play in his role, so I feel they should release him.

"Willard Katsande should be working with Sheppy (Dillion Sheppard) and Arthur Zwane and play a part in the development. Bernard Parker should be helping out in the development. I feel they should let Petersen go and keep Bvuma.

"Lebogang Manyama is suspect. He blows hot and cold, but I believe that if you give him a one or two-year extension, he can still do better. He just needs to be motivated. I think they can renew Kgotso Moleko's contract. Philani Zulu must stay, 100 percent. What a brilliant player. It's just that most of the coaches who have come to Chiefs have failed to use him properly. As for the rest, I think they can leave the club."
