Ernst Middendorp Thinks He Knows When Kaizer Chiefs' Lost Against Chippa United

Ernst Middendorp

Ernst Middendorp thinks he can pinpoint the moment that Kaizer Chiefs lost focus in Port Elizabeth as they slumped to their worst league performance since 1985.   Read: Revealed - Playoff Games As Absa Prem Fight Begins   The 1-0 defeat to Chippa United on Saturday meant that the Glamour Boys finished with just 39 points from their 30 games, their worst points tally in nearly three decades, and Middendorp believes that things started to go wrong within the first 10 minutes.   Chippa's Tebogo Makobela had to be substituted after getting a nasty looking head injury in the early stages of the game, and Chiefs' head coach says that it made an impact on how his players dealt with their opponents.   Read: AFCON Injury Scare For Bafana Star   Speaking to the club's official website, the German said, "I noticed that after Chippa's player, Tebogo Makobela, sustained a severe injury, players lost focus… I noticed that they pulled away from getting stuck in. Still, we got numerous chances and we had a big penalty appeal at some point.   "We will not allow this result to hamper our plans, it's water under the bridge and the challenge is to get ready for the next game."   Chiefs now have one last game left to play in the 2018/19 season, with the Nedbank Cup their final chance to save what has otherwise been a very disappointing season at Naturena.    Toyota, drive your obsession
