Word reaching the Siya crew is that Kaizer Chiefs utility player Happy Mashiane has signed up with a popular management agency.
This immediately brings about questions over whether the 25-year-old, who is not considered a regular at Naturena, could look to revisit discussions about his future.
It was widely reported prior to the start of the season that Mashiane would be heading to Stellenbosch FC as part of the deal that saw striker Ashley Du Preez join Amakhosi from the Winelands for around R10 million.
Sources have confirmed to Soccer Laduma that Mashiane was indeed set to leave until the Chiefs hierarchy, along with coach Arthur Zwane, made a U-turn.
Mashiane has only made 10 appearances for the Glamour Boys since then, most of them as a substitute, which his new agency will take into account.
Indications are that the player is now part of the Brand Arc talent management team, which is mostly made up of high-profile media personalities and only a handful of sport stars that now include the former junior international.
The Siya crew has been led to believe that as things stand, the left-footed player is happy to fight for his place at the Soweto giants next season under Zwane.
But this is not cast in stone, especially given that Amakhosi are likely to bring in more reinforcement during the off-season, possibly limiting his chances further.
