With Kaizer Chiefs looking to send their young player Aden McCarthy out on loan, recently relegated Cape Town Spurs have emerged as a possible destination for the defender.
The Siya crew had reported that McCarthy, 20, was amongst six players to be sent out on loan by Chiefs.
McCarthy recently jetted out to Moldova where he underwent an assessment with Sheriff Tiraspol, although close, a move did not materialise for the player, who has subsequently returned to South Africa.
Having missed Chiefs' pre-season plans and subsequently his opportunity to impress the club's technical team in Turkiye, the plan is for McCarthy to gain valuable first-team experience and the first division has emerged as a real possibility ahead of the new season.
Siya sources have indicated that both Casric Stars and Pretoria Callies have emerged as potential options for the son of Fabian McCarthy, but well-placed sources have informed the crew that Cape Town Spurs have now emerged as strong candidates to land the player.
Chiefs recently prized away Spurs defender Rushwin Dortley who was a key cog in the Spurs machine, and now it appears that they will try and plug the gap with McCarthy, who is in a similar mould to the 22-year-old.
