During the January transfer window one of the biggest surprises is that Kaizer Chiefs didn't make any signings considering that they are currently far from challenging Mamelodi Sundowns for the PSL title.
Interim coach Cavin Johnson reportedly preferred to stick with his current crop of players, placing faith in youngsters and wanting to give more time to their winter signings.

Johnson has now come out and discussed the matter in the Nedbank Cup press conference as the club prepares to face Milford FC on Sunday in the last 32 of the tournament.
"Look, like I said when we took over, I think I was there 48 hours when the transfer window opened and closed," Johnson said in the press conference for the match.
"I thought if I was a coach that came into a group of people of 30-plus and said you know what; 'not good enough, you need to strengthen', that means I have not taken my work or my work with a group of players and make them better and that's the reason why we did not sign anybody in the transfer window."
Furthermore, given the current squad – the interim boss feels it is adequate to just use these players for the rest of the campaign.
"I think what we have at the club is good enough to take them to the end of the season and make them and get them many points and like I said earlier on, praying to God, get them one trophy which they are capable of winning. So, it's about what we do on the pitch," Johnson said.
Chiefs returned to action last Sunday where they had stuttered to a goalless draw against Royal AM in the DStv Premiership. Though after over a month out because of the Africa Cup of Nations, it would take time for all clubs to get back into the swing of things.READ: Pirates Concerns Over Chaine's Prolonged Injury?
