After the steadying the ship towards the end of 2023, Kaizer Chiefs' interim coach Cavin Johnson is not likely to make too many changes as he prepares to name his first line-up for the second half of the season this weekend.
Amakhosi are set to take on Royal AM away from home on Sunday, determined to extend their unbeaten run in the Premiership to five matches.

Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma, who recently signed a new deal with the Soweto giants, started the last four games of 2023 and kept three clean sheets during that period. After a strong finish to the year, indications are that he will be the one starting in goal when Amakhosi play their first match of 2024.
In front of Bvuma could see Reeve Frosler, Given Msimango, Edmilson Dove and Sifiso Hlanti featuring as the back four. Thatayaone Ditlhokwe is available for selection and will definitely give Johnson a headache in selecting the final team for take on an unpredictable Royal AM side.
Amakhosi's strongest department is arguably their central midfield, where they have Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Yusuf Maart and Edson Castillo as options. Mthethwa and Maart are likely to get the nod, with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo set to play in a more advanced role.

Pule Mmodi is another Amakhosi player who enjoyed a good finish to 2023 and chances are that Johnson will give him the nod to start in a front three including Ashley du Preez and Christian Saile.
