Kaizer Chiefs' football manager Bobby Motaung has explained what the Soweto giants can learn from their rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Even though Bobby said that Chiefs' decision to appoint Arthur Zwane as head coach was not influenced by Sundowns as the Tshwane giants are led by two local coaches in Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena, he did admit that there are lessons to be taken out of Sundowns' success.
"What influenced us to appoint Arthur is our challenges, not what Sundowns are doing, obviously there is some good in what they are doing," Bobby told the media at FNB Stadium.
"There is something right that they have done which is continuity, I mean once Pitso [Mosimane] left Sundowns there was continuity on their technical staff [as then Pitso's assistants Mngqithi and Mokwena are now the co-coaches at Sundowns]. Maybe that's where we also need to tab on and say let there should be continuity which sustains the culture of the club.
"Maybe there is a plus factor there but we are also looking at yourselves, trying to look at our challenges, which required us to appoint a coach who understands the culture of the club."
