Arthur Zwane Worried About Kaizer Chiefs Striking Department

Goals are proving hard to come by for Kaizer Chiefs and coach Arthur Zwane is well aware of the fact that this is an area they need to focus on if they want to be part of the title chasing pack this season.

Amakhosi were unable to rattle the back of the net against AmaZulu over the weekend, even from the penalty spot as Dillan Solomons failed to conver from 12-yards out in a game which ended goalless.

Currently sitting in 12th place on the DStv Premiership standings, Amakhosi have scored just four times in their six matches this season. Three of the four goals were scored against Maritzburg United and the other from the penalty spot against Richards Bay. That means the club has failed to score in four matches thus far, which is a major concern for Zwane.

"It is definitely a concern, especially when you are at home. We create chances. It would have been another thing to say we don't create goalscoring opportunities. I think we created enough (against AmaZulu) to get two goals. It was unfortunate that we could not bury them," Zwane told media after the goalless draw with Usuthu.

"It gives us that task as coaches to focus more on our finishing and also those combinations in the final third entry. When we get the chemistry right, then we will be fine."

With Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana recently receiving his work permit, Zwane will be hoping that the Burundian striker can score the goals to ease the pressure that's currently on the Soweto giants.
