The story

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart celebrated his 30th birthday in his first week in Austria and was joined by his new teammate, former Stellenbosch FC midfielder Antonio van Wyk.

Maart has been getting accustomed to life in Ried im Innkreis after being unveiled by SV Ried on Tuesday, having penned a two-year deal with the newly promoted Austrian Bundesliga team.

Maart, who will don the holding midfield position appropriate number 6 jersey for SV Ried, was spotted dining with van Wyk and the 23-year-old's girlfriend, Cheswinita Hendricks.

The Bafana Bafana international treated himself to a pizza while van Wyk opted for a creamy pasta, taking to his Instagram story to post a short clip of their link-up.

As the only South Africans playing in Austria, and luckily for the same team, both Maart and van Wyk will hope to build a solid connection both on and off the pitch, as the latter helps the former to settle into his new surroundings.
