The story

Macbeth Sibaya has garnered some rare attention on social media of late for his venture in farming back in his home province of KwaZulu Natal.

The ex-Moroka Swallows holding midfielder, who played a bulk of his club career in Russia for Rubin Kazan, owns a farming enterprise alongside his wife, Nicky, a former chef.

News of their agriculture venture was first reported in 2022 by Durban's Highway Mail community newspaper, who profiled the Hammarsdale-raised baller and his partner on their spacious property.

As revealed in 2022, Sibaya's vision is to not only tackle food scarcity in KZN but to also revive traditional living, with a focus on supporting and mentoring farmers.

The report also mentioned that Sibaya's family farm is the first step toward their larger goal, which is to try and connect landowners, farmers, and the market.

"One home, one garden is the answer to food scarcity in our country," revealed Nicky at the time, adding, "We want to get our hands dirty. MacBeth's day starts early in the morning on our farm, or he has meetings on other farms – that's basically what his life is about now."
