Richards Bay FC's Thulani Gumede.

Despite earning the Man of the Match award, Richards Bay FC's Thulani Gumede was still the target of some ridicule from his teammates.

Check it out!

What's the story?

After bagging a brace and walking away with a R5 000 Man of the Match cash prize, Thulani Gumede was made fun of by his Richards Bay FC teammates after their win over Polokwane City.

The Natal Rich Boys progressed to the Nedbank Cup round of 16, with a 3-2 victory over their Limpopo-based opponents at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.

A brilliant brace from Thulani Gumede inspired Richards Bay as they overcame Polokwane City, 3-2 in Durban on Saturday evening.

The win takes the Natal Rich Boys into the round of 16 in the cup competition, with Gumede's goals in the 34th and 71st minute proving to be instrumental.

During his post-match interview with SuperSport TV's Phumlani Msibi, a group of Richards Bay players behind coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi were creasing up, in anticipation for Gumede to speak.

"They're just messing with me," admits Gumede to Msibi in isiZulu, adding that his teammates want to hear him answer the questions in English.
