The story
Peter Shalulile has matched the Premier Soccer League's all-time goal-scoring record held by the legendary Bafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvethe, reaching an impressive tally of 129 goals.
The Namibian sharp-shooter found the back of the net in Sundowns' 2-0 victory over a 10-man Magesi FC at Seshego Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday night.
His goal, which came in the 87th minute, sealed the win for Sundowns as he calmly slotted home a well-executed counter-attack from just outside the penalty area.
The result sees Sundowns climb to third on the table with seven points from their opening three matches.
To mark the occasion of equalling Nomvethe's goalscoring record, "Sha-Sha" celebrated passionately with his teammates and coaches, while holding up a white vest that read, 'I belong to Jesus', similar to the vest that Brazil and AC Milan legend Kaka would brandish from under his jersey when celebrating a goal.
