The story
The former Bafana Bafana star wedded 'Mpumi' twenty-two years ago and they have been together ever since then.
However, a week after their wedding, a Hollywood style kidnapping was reported to be ochestrated by the then newly wed wife to get the attention of her husband.
It is said Mphumi did so to reunite with 'Bhele', who had soon left for Italy after their wedding to play for Udinese, fearing that he would leave her and their new-born baby for other women in a foreign country.
That's how deep their love runs if viewed from a different perspective, one that sees the other partner not wanting to live without their significant other.
Nomvethe and Mpumi have been blessed with two children, a boy and a girl, and much of his private life has remained out of the public eye.
Their marriage has without doubt dispelled the myth that footballers can't be committed, a shining example to emerging talents in the fraternity.
